Painter / Sculptor / Ceramicist

I am painter, a sculptor and more recently a ceramicist. Mark making colour and surface are at the centre of my work although pattern composition also play a part. My pieces are abstract in style; I try to work instinctively letting the piece drive the ways things go. I love working in clay with slips, oxides and under glazes, so many suprising things happen. Most pots are matt and fired at low temperatures and sculptural in nature. My degree is in textile design and I have PGCE in teaching art and design.
