Becca Clegg BA (Hons)

Painter

My paintings, big or small, have a starting point which might be a geometric framework or a textile design, a jug or a landscape I like. I apply acrylics, with tramline or tubeline texture, adding metallics, iridescents & inks. As each painting develops I allow the way the paint & ink react on the canvas or board to adapt my original ideas. The chaotic nature of the patina suggests the direction to take the painting further until it reaches a balance which pleases me. I have recently created some smaller pictures in felt including some for my "Trees" series

Julie Barham

Ceramicist

A ceramic work should capture your attention and entice you to handle it and to think. I love pieces that demand I pick them up and look around them. I love them to be tactile and visually luscious! I am captured by organic designs, by patterns and colours which I observe in plants, the coast, textiles and architecture. I make tableware, ornamental seed heads for the garden and home, and a variety of buttons! I hope you enjoy my work and that it gives you reason to pause and reflect.

Amanda Cobbett BA (Hons)

Sculptor / Craftsperson / Mixed Media Artist

Amanda works in her studio in the picturesque village of Peaslake, Surrey creating beautiful sculptures of birds, animals and people using a mixture of papier mache, wire, found objects and vintage fabrics.  Amanda trained as a printed textile designer at Chelsea College of Art and after graduating in 1994 has worked professionally in this field. Printmaking is a constant source of inspiration, this combined with colour, intricacy, automata, a collection of salvaged materials and the setting of a tiny scene; they all play a part in the creative process.

Gill Denyer

Textile / Mixed Media Artist

I work mainly with textiles, although recently I have been dabbling in mixed media. I don't have any particular product that I always make, but I continually change both the techniques that I use and finished articles. This means that the majority of my work is one-of-a-kind. I try and use recycled materials wherever possible as I hate throwing anything away. Some of my art pieces are made from plastic bags with stitch. At the moment I am looking at using vintage materials to make small pictures on canvas, using all my hoarded bits and pieces!

Louisa Sullivan

Kiln Formed Glass Artist

My work has evolved from nature, through the study of patterns and colours. Most pieces are simple in design with the occasional 60's flair thrown in for good measure. A wide range of pieces are on display from large platters to coasters. Commissions always welcome.

Tim Burns BA

Painter

My work reflects the world around me, whether it be the places I visit, the contents of my fruit bowl, my ceramics collection, or bits and pieces collected from the beach or from my garden. I am currently busy painting the rugged North Cornish Coast and related still-life subjects.

Fleur Andreas MSDC

Handweaver

I am a handweaver and dyer using fine, natural yarns such as merino, silk and bamboo. My principle interest is to create individual, handcrafted textiles including scarves, wraps and wall hangings. My primary inspiration comes from nature with it’s subtelty of textures and colour, the richness of the sunset and the refraction of light on flowing water. I have also been a potter for many years, throwing mainly earthenware and porcelain pieces. I am a Member of The Society of Designer Craftsmen.
