Painter
My work is inspired by bold skies and bright flowers,and is strongly influenced by my love of old textiles. My paintings are essentially optimistic, I try to ensure that the joy that painting brings me is expressed on the finished canvas. My other works include collage/drawings of flowers which provide the inspiration for the floral shapes in my paintings and life drawings/collages which explore the play of colour, light & heat across the body.

Inspired by sea, land & sky, particularly around Cornwall & in the surrounding Surrey Hills. I enjoy pushing the boundaries of paint, bringing vitality to my work with glazes, texture and lively mark-making. I paint direct from the landscape, trying to capture the emotion of a place, rather than a direct representation. I keep my drawing & observation skills fresh with regular life drawing. My work is exhibited in galleries and at art fairs, in UK and Portugal and is held in private collections.
