Dear Artist
I hope that your work is going well and that you feel prepared for the approaching Open Studios. The Area co-ordinators have been working tirelessly to increase publicity at a local level and I am most grateful for their ongoing commitment when they are busy practicing artists themselves
Evaluation
Every year we evaluate this project, and this year it is particularly important to gather visitor and income data as we are putting together a business plan: Open Studios is going through some funding changes and all of your data will help make a clear plan for the future development of this project. To do this we need you to record your day-by-day open studios data.
You can complete your artist’s record sheet and artist’s questionnaire online. Log on above with the username and password you used to register. Please do not leave it until the last minute! Contact Richard if you have any problems.
Under your Surrey Open Studios signed Registration Agreement you have committed to completing an evaluation return for your studio.
Please note: it is one record sheet and one questionnaire per studio not per artist. Please complete your daily records chart whilst you have your studio open, then using your collected data complete your questionnaire by Friday 25th June.
The Evaluation meeting will take place on Tuesday 13th July at The Surrey History Centre, 130 Goldsworth Road, Woking, GU21 6ND, 2.30–4.30pm. All participating artists are invited to attend. Please RSVP to Caroline or call 01483 519281 by 12th July.
Loyalty cards
When you collected your publicity material, you will also have received a supply of loyalty cards. These loyalty cards are for our Prize Draw and the Baines Surrey Artist of the Year competition, both initiatives aimed to encourage our visitors to go round studios with their loyalty cards and collect artist signatures and choose their favourite artist. Please display these clearly in your studio: as artists you could be the chosen artist for the prize draw or winner of the competition!
Accessibility
I wish you all the best with this year’s Open Studios. Please DO re-read the accessibility document (download pdf), even if you have participated in open studios before, as there maybe some new ideas you have not thought of! If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact your coordinator or me. Above all, I hope you enjoy taking part in this event!
Best wishes, Caroline Jackman
