Jim Pinchen

Contemporary Music Development Officer for Surrey County Council and the Surrey Regional Coordinator for Rhythmix (Youth Music).

Broadly speaking my brief is to expand the contemporary music provision within Surrey with a focus on reaching excluded young people or at risk of exclusion, young offenders or at risk of offending anyone else who's lives would be improved by having access to contemporary music provision. I am currently delivering a very diverse range of music activity in Surrey and my employment with Rhythmix gives me immediate access to a whole range of professional and experienced musicians whose expertise range from Samba and African percussion to RnB, hip-hop, rock, music technology and DJ-ing.

Personal:

Well, I've just ran the London Marathon for Amnesty International in a very painful 5hours! I'm also a keen musician and although I maybe too old to become a new musician sensation I am still writing and performing and am currently working on the music for a short feature film. I live in Brighton and love living by the sea and I really enjoy my work in Surrey but hate the commute between the two!

Caroline Jackman

Exhibitions & Open Studios Coordinator

I coordinate opportunities for recent Surrey Graduates, school and college students, undergraduates and artists, including biannual Art Start exhibition and I am currently working towards the next Cream of the Crop Surrey Graduate exhibition.

I have been with Surrey Arts since 2005 and one of my roles is to coordinate the annual Surrey Artists Open Studios, where over 250 Artists open their doors to the public.

Open Studios is a well established and helps to raise the profile of artists and the Arts in Surrey.  My role has enabled me to deliver ‘Key to Success’, an open studios best practice publication for the southeast.

Personal:

I am also a practicing artist, gaining much of my inspiration from living on a farm!
