In the Elmbridge area:
Edwina Wardle in Walton on Thames welcomes you to her studio with artwork spilling into her whole house, her paintings are full of life, a definite inspiration from her love of gardening and sustaining a natural balance in her work and garden.
Christine Withers also in Walton on Thames has a wealth of knowledge in manipulating glass, her work is a welcome and skilful surprise especially in her glass corset sculptures.
In Guildford:
Lockwood Arts Limited in Slyfield Industrial Estate is just packed full of superb print artist's work, from etching to monoprints, from screenprints to linocuts, over forty artists work, Ochre Print studio is truly growing!
If you are in the Farnham (Waverley West) area:
The Tice Room in Bagshot Lea: Jono & Debi Retallick showcasing fascinating, excellent, quirky mixed media work that contrasts well with Chris Bourne's subtle portrait photography.
The Sands, nr Seale: sculptor Max Patté, who has produced some fascinating mood provoking figurative sculpture and recently completed public sculptures in New Zealand. Max has an excellent eye for figurative sculpture and is capturing the mood of his sculptures in his recent new paintings.
Elizabeth Lloyd in Crondall experiments with watercolour and acrylic to produce beautiful scenic paintings that are light and free in the rhythm of brush strokes.
In the Mole Valley area:
Christine Wallace in Dorking has a dominating loom at the heart of her studio, which does not take away the intricate detail of her weaving and her jewellery.
Janet Crook's studio in the heart of Dorking is small and delightful, packed full of delicate, superbly crafted ceramic sculptures, all with a story to tell.
In Runnymede:
Christiane Zschommler near New Haw, living on a narrow boat, she is surrounded by inspiration, and her skill to manipulate images in the dark room enables her to create some stunning photographic imagery.
In the Tandridge area:
Natasha Smart in Oxted is new to the professional textile world, but you wouldn't know it, as her work is delightful, especially her felt bags that bring together style, form and originality in one package.
This is just a taster of what I have seen so far, but please explore yourself, there is something to suit everyone's taste!
