This is your chance to vote for your favourite Surrey Open Studio artist in the Baines Surrey Artists of the Year Competition 2010
The top Surrey Open Studios Artists have been voted for by the public during this years Surrey Artists Open Studios event. The votes were very close (click here for the results) and 16 artists have been selected. The exhibition taking place in September is the public's chance to vote for their overall winner:
Rules & regulations:
- The Best of the Best Surrey Open Studio Artist is decided upon a panel of judges accounting for 50% of the final decision, the other 50% is decided from the public voting during the New Ashgate gallery exhibition in September
- Only votes cast at The New Ashgate gallery during the September exhibition 2010 will count towards the Best of the Best Surrey Open Studio Artist
- The Best of the Best Surrey Open Studio Artist will be publically announced by 7th October 2010
- The chosen Best of the Best Surrey Open Studio Artist is to win the prize of a solo show at New Ashgate Gallery in August 2011 and a bursary to support their art practice.

To help celebrate their 10th Anniversary, Surrey Artists Open Studios is once again working in partnership with the New Ashgate Gallery to coordinate the Baines Surrey Artist of the Year Competition. This event is sponsored by the Baines-Davis Charitable Trust in memory of its founder Patricia Baines.
This competition enables Surrey Artists Open Studios to show recognition to the quality of its artists that are involved. We invite our visitors to choose their favourite artist who they judge to offer quality artwork by doing so through simple voting system on offer during the open studios event in June 2010.
This will be our audience’s chance to publically show appreciation towards the artists involved in this open studio event and for some of our artists to have the opportunity to take part in a public showcase at a well established popular commercial venue.
